General Rule: We want the Cubs in uniform at meetings and outings, but if you can’t manage it for a meeting (laundry, coming from soccer practice, etc) it’s OK. DO YOUR BEST!
WHERE TO GET UNIFORMS:
- We have a hand me down box - please turn in pieces that your Cub outgrows (or last year’s neckerchief, if you do not want to keep).
- Scout Shop in Atlanta Area Council office - 1800 Circle 75 Pkwy, 30339 (across from Braves’ ballpark).
- Online at https://www.scoutshop.org/
- Pack 268 shirts are available on Amazon
UNIFORM COMPONENTS:
- Cub Scout Uniform Shirt - wear for pack meetings; optional for den meetings
- Blue shirts for Tigers, Wolves, Bears.

- Webelos (4th or 5th grade) can switch to the khaki shirt when they outgrow their blue shirt; they wear the same khaki shirt when they are in Boy Scouts.
Required patches for shirts:- Atlanta Area Council patch

- Pack numbers 2 - 6 - 8 (individual red numbers for Cub Scouts)

- Pack 268 does not use den numbers
- World crest emblem

- Patch placement guide
- Atlanta Area Council patch
- Blue shirts for Tigers, Wolves, Bears.
Buying Tips:
- Buy big - they will grow into it!
- Only buy a short sleeve uniform shirt; in cold weather, they can wear a long sleeve t-shirt underneath.
- Lions are not required to wear blue uniform shirts - if they want to wear one, they can.
- Neckerchiefs are color coded by year
- Lions = Yellow
- Tigers = Orange
- Wolves = Red (used to be Yellow; old Yellow Wolves ones are OK)
- Bears = Blue
- Webelos/AOL = Plaid
Neckerchief slides are helpful, but frequently lost. One tip is to tie a knot underneath the slide.
- Cub Scout Hats are color coded by age; optional for meetings, but a good idea for outdoor activity.
- Cub Scout belts - get one - it’s not just for holding up pants! Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears receive belt loops for completing adventures

- Webelos color ribbons - pinned to uniform shirt sleeve. Webelo adventure pins go here.

- Activity “Class B” t-shirt - worn at den meetings. Lots of special Cub & Scout designs available; non-Cub shirts are OK.
Two special ones:
- Lion shirt

- Pack 268 shirt - available on Amazon
We do not require Cub uniform pants/shorts for meetings - jeans or other pants/shorts are OK. Cub Scout socks are not required (but wearing socks is a very good idea for hikes)
Shoes: No flip flops or Crocs at the Hut - sticks and stones can hurt! Closed toed shoes, minimally with an ankle strap. Sneakers are always good!

WHEN TO WEAR THEM
- Regular weekly den meetings at Hut
All Cubs should wear:- Class B t-shirt (or long sleeved t-shirt in cold weather)
- Neckerchief and slide (so we know which den meeting they should be with)
- Uniform shirt is optional
- Pack meetings (for awards) or special events
- Lions: Class B shirt, neckerchief, slide
- All other Cubs: Uniform shirt, neckerchief, slide.
- Outdoor activities (hikes / campouts)
- Travel in uniform - let others see you are a Cub Scout!
- For hike / campout activities at site, Class B is appropriate
